Accounting Assistant

Grassroot Soccer (GRS) is a rapidly growing adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize at-risk youth in developing countries to overcome their greatest health challenges, live healthier, more productive lives, and be agents for change in their communities. Since 2002, GRS has reached over 2 million young people in 50 countries with life-saving HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health information and services. Grassroot Soccer is looking to significantly scale its impact via partnerships over the next five years, and reach over 1M kids annually.

Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant is an entry-level role that is responsible for providing a wide range of accounting support functions to Grassroot Soccer’s Hanover, New Hampshire Headquarters office. The focus of this role is to perform bookkeeping functions and to assist the Finance Department. The employee will have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment and multi-task in a fast-paced office. This position reports to the Assistant Global Controller.

Specifications & Competencies

  • Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (Accounting preferred)
  • Experience: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word. Keen interest in Accounting and the NGO sector.
  • Communication Style: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work Style: Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to shift gears and work outside the job description. Excellent planning and organization skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Patience, dedication and confidentiality.
