As a professional soccer player I feel I have a responsibility to set an example to others and make a difference wherever I can. Getting involved with Grassroot Soccer provides me the opportunity to give back to the people of my country.

I am very fortunate to play for one of the biggest teams in Africa,
Kaizer Chiefs. However, my vision does not stop there. I have big
Dreams; to better myself as a footballer, as a person and to reach bigger goals.

I feel very blessed in my life; however, I believe it is as a result of long hours, passion and hard work. I believe big rewards big sacrifices and this goes hand in hand with big dreams and faith. If you are committed and determined enough you can do anything, you just need to have faith and put your mind to it and God will provide the necessary tools. Never give up on your dream and goals especially when things get tough – show your character and be strong. Remember – Nothing worth fighting for comes easy!

I personally have had hands on experiences with those less fortunate, whether it is in hospital or people in their communities. I am very blessed and touched to have the opportunity and be in a position to help and change peoples lives for the better. It is very rewarding to see people picking themselves up and taking a positive step forward in their lives, whatever circumstance they may find themselves in.

Unfortunately we as Africans face the problem of HIV and Aids and we need to do something about it.
HIV is clearly not a subject that people should dismiss or be ashamed to talk about. It affects all Africans in some way whether it is directly or indirectly. My concern is that people try and hide the problem rather than dealing with it as a nation. I feel strongly about being open and honest about ones problems simply because life is so precious and people need one another especially in difficult times.
If you seek help you will surely get it and in turn live a better life. Hiding problems, especially health problems, is detrimental. A lot of people are in the position to help and wholeheartedly want to make a difference in people’s lives so my message to people infected with HIV is to be strong, brave and know that there is support. It can be life changing.
A person facing challenges must have faith and never give up on life. Determination to achieve something worth fighting for is the key to success and to overcoming many challenges. Life is what you make of it. With God’s blessing and having faith, a normal and beautiful life can be led as long as you are open about challenges and the right medical help is sought.
