Name: Ross Sandler

Age: 33 going on 63

Running History: I’m not 100% sure, but I think it all started when saber tooth tigers would eat people…so they started running?

How He’s Training: Very, very, very painfully.

GRS Connection: Ethan Zohn, Kirk Friedrich and Methembe Ndlovu and I have been close friends since playing professional soccer and coaching together after college. These guys are the sweat, blood and tears of the organization and I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of their work. When I travel to the World Cup in South Africa next June, I want to know that I’ve played a role in making life better for young people there.

Message: “A lot of people run a race to see who’s the fastest. I run to see who has the most guts.” – Steve Prefontaine
