Nik

Nik Haigh is the European director of Grassroot Soccer. He was born in Cambridge, England and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Nik attended Cornell University where as a student athlete he competed on the varsity soccer team, winning the William and Carla Kid financial scholarship for excellence in academics and athletics. In his senior year he received the Penniman memorial award for leadership and the Bawlf award for greatest team contribution. Nik was also selected for the All Ivy Team and NSCAA / Adidas All-Regional Team. After graduating in 2002 he went on to compete internationally as a professional soccer player. Over the past four years Nik has worked across Europe for Curzon Global Partners, a London based investment firm. During this time he was involved with the East Side Young Leaders Academy, a non-profit organization that works with disadvantaged young men in London. Nik joined Grassroot Soccer in 2008 with the goal of uniting the European football and business communities in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
